One to One Support

One to One Support

In care settings, teams can sometimes face sudden changes in an individual’s wellbeing that make routine care more challenging. When mental illness, hallucinations, anxiety, behaviours that challenge, or paranoia begin to emerge or escalate, specialist support may not always be available on site. In these moments, routine staffing alone is often not enough to meet complex psychological needs.

Our 1-to-1 clinical support provides calm, skilled, and compassionate care exactly when it is needed most. By preventing escalation, reducing distress, and supporting both mental and physical health, our clinicians help residents feel safe, confident, and understood in every moment.

When specialist 1-to-1 support can make a real difference

  • Residents experiencing hallucinations, paranoia, or distressing thoughts
  • Residents who are anxious, fearful, or confused and decline physical care
  • Situations where behaviour escalates, increasing distress or risk
  • Complex cases where behaviours may lead to hospital admission or physical decline

Rather than relying on restraint, isolation, or medical escalation, our specialist staff use therapeutic engagement to calmly de-escalate situations. This approach supports emotional regulation, meaningful connection, and positive engagement with everyday care, helping residents regain confidence, stability, and independence.

Over time, we have seen how personalised 1-to-1 support can transform outcomes. Residents at significant risk due to distress, high-risk behaviours, or declining physical health are often able to stabilise, engage more fully with care, and experience lasting improvements in wellbeing. In some cases, this focused support has not only enhanced quality of life but has also helped to maintain health and longevity in ways that routine care alone could not.

Our 1-to-1 Support has been shown to:

  • Prevent escalation and reduce distress
  • Enable safe engagement with physical care
  • Support emotional wellbeing and quality of life
  • Stabilise complex behaviours and promote independence

    Our clinicians:

    • Have extensive clinical history and hands-on experience, understanding the connection between mental wellbeing, physical health, and behaviour
    • Follow an evidence-based, compassionate approach focused on quality of life
    • Are skilled in behavioural support, de-escalation, and therapeutic engagement
    • Can step in quickly and work collaboratively with your team to ensure continuity of care and build confidence for residents and their families

We do more than fill gaps. We enhance care, protect wellbeing, and help residents feel seen, heard, and supported in every moment. With the right personalised 1-to-1 support, residents are safer, more able to engage confidently with their care, and better supported to experience improved mental and physical health.

      Social Worker

Knowing that dedicated 1:1 support is in place has given our family real peace of mind. The carers are not only skilled and reliable, but genuinely kind and attentive. They treat our Dad with warmth, respect and patience, always taking the time to ensure we feel heard and included. It never feels like we are a burden when we ask questions. The reassurance the team provides means everything to us during this uncertain time. Most importantly, we can see that Dad is happier, and parts of his personality have started to shine through again.

      Case Study

      H Story
H was on end-of-life care due to the impact her mental health was having on her physical health. She was experiencing hallucinations and paranoia, which led her to refuse food and water, confine herself to her room, and avoid personal care. This led to serious malnutrition, dehydration and skin damage With our specialist 1-to-1 support, her distress was stabilised, her wellbeing improved, and she regained quality of life. She is no longer on end-of-life care and is now living with greater comfort, confidence, and independence.

      K Story

K was unable to find a suitable placement to leave hospital safely. His complex medical conditions required ongoing nursing treatments, but his diagnosis of paranoid schizophrenia and high-risk behaviours meant he needed specialist support that most nursing environments are not equipped to provide. He required 1-to-1 care from a clinician with the skills to ensure his safety and help him engage with his care.

With 1-to-1 clinical support from our team, he was able to move into a nursing home and settle quickly and confidently. His family have said he looks the best they have seen him in a long time and praised the carers for their brilliant, compassionate support.
